ANALYSIS

Player Analysis: Bledsoe surprised many in his first season in Dallas, throwing for 3639 yards and 23 TDs and finishing 8th among QBs. He has a very strong and accurate arm, and can really throw well when given time. He has no mobility, and struggles against the blitz. When he is under pressure often, his play suffers. He has a couple of new weapons to work with and a better offensive line, which should translate into better production.

Fantasy Football Impact: After a strong first season, Bledsoe welcomes in a big new weapon in Owens. If his line holds up, he could have a great season, and should be a starter in most leagues. Stay away from him, though, if the line falls to injuries.

RECENTLY BREAKING NEWS

Romo expects 'new wrinkles' as Cowboys QB faces Redskins - 11/04/2006
Source: National Football League News Wire

In his second NFL start, Tony Romo is facing a Gregg Williams defense. Usually, that's cause to shield your eyes and hide the children. But ugly days have been few and far between for the quarterbacks, even the younger ones, who have faced the Washington Redskins this year. Besides, Romo won't be a nervous newcomer when he comes to town with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday -- he's the league's latest instant celebrity, his gaudy 1-0 record only 14 wins shy of Ben Roethlisberger's 15-0 regular-season debut run with the Pittsburgh Steelers. "I'm not thinking of him as a guy making his second start," Washington defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin said. "I'm thinking of him as a starter in this league that's playing good football right now." Lest the hype get out of hand, Drew Bledsoe's replacement has a ways to go before he's crowned a successor to Don Meredith, Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman in the parade of great Cowboys quarterbacks. Romo threw an interception that helped dig a 14-0 hole last week against Carolina before the Cowboys rallied for a 35-14 victory, a margin of defeat determined more by Panthers mistakes than anything else. Now he has to face a defense with damaged pride and stats to match. The Redskins' D is ranked 26th in the league -- 30th against the pass -- and was humiliated as the victim of Tennessee Titans rookie Vince Young's first NFL victory three weeks ago. The projected starting 11 is finally healthy enough to take the field together for the first time, which could allow assistant coach Williams to unleash the aggressive, blitzing schemes that made his past defenses so fearsome.

Romo, Dallas stun Carolina with big rally - 10/30/2006
Source: NFL.com

Tony Romo found a way to put a smile back on Bill Parcells' face. Romo rallied the Cowboys from a 14-point first-quarter deficit, passing for 270 yards and a touchdown, and Julius Jones ran for 94 yards and a score to help the Cowboys beat the Carolina Panthers 35-14. The Cowboys set a team record with 25 fourth-quarter points. "He's a guy who's been miserable all week," said receiver Terrell Owens, Romo's top target with nine catches for 107 yards. "I asked him coming off the field on Friday, I asked him how it was going and he said he doesn't like to get his butt kicked. As a team, we're tired of losing; we know we have a decent team. We just have to go out and play like it." Romo, starting in place of the benched Drew Bledsoe, showed poise in slowly leading the Cowboys (4-3) back, using a variety of short passes to different receivers. Early in the fourth quarter, facing a third-and-12 from the Carolina 21, Romo sidestepped pressure and fired a 16-yard pass to Jason Witten. But the drive stalled when Romo misfired to Witten in the end zone on third down, and Mike Vanderjagt kicked a 24-yard field goal to cut the Panthers' lead to 14-13.

Parcells ponders: Bledsoe or Romo? - 10/25/2006
Source: ESPN

Drew Bledsoe doesn't carry a clipboard, and he's not into playing big brother. He's either a starter or one unhappy veteran. That's just part of the dilemma Bill Parcells faces this week while deciding whether Bledsoe or Tony Romo should be the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. Bledsoe lost his grip on the job after throwing an interception shortly before halftime Monday night. With the Cowboys in position to score a go-ahead touchdown, Bledsoe instead made one of the bad decisions Parcells had warned could get him yanked.

Romo replaces Bledsoe as Cowboys QB - 10/23/2006
Source: ESPN

IRVING, Texas -- Tony Romo replaced Drew Bledsoe as the Dallas Cowboys ' quarterback to start the second ...

Fantasy Impact: Fans had been clamoring for this for weeks, now they get their wish. How this situation plays out will have a major effect on the rest of the Cowboys season, both in real-life and in fantasy.

Cowboys are kings of Texas with 34-6 win - 10/16/2006
Source: NFL.com

Terrell Owens stood on a star logo at Texas Stadium again. This time, it led to a standing ovation. Owens capped his turnaround from local scourge to fan favorite by catching three second-half touchdowns, taking the Dallas Cowboys from a tight game against the Houston Texans to an easy 34-6 victory. "I think this is a good start for me," said Owens, who broke a three-game scoring drought, his longest since 2000, with his first three-TD game since the night of his infamous skit with one of the "Desperate Housewives" in 2004. "This is something to build on," he said. "It was a lot of fun." All the Cowboys (3-2) had to enjoy this one, from the offense putting up 31 points after halftime, scoring on five of six possessions, to the defense not allowing a touchdown for the second straight home game. It was an emphatic recovery from a tough loss to Philadelphia last week and a great way of avenging an embarrassing loss to the Texans (1-4) four years ago. And with the Eagles losing to New Orleans, the Cowboys moved within a half-game of first place in the NFC East; they're tied with the New York Giants, their foe next Monday night. Yet the story was T.O. -- and, for the first time since he joined Dallas, it was all good news.

Parcells sticking with Drew Bledsoe, working on 'O' line - 10/10/2006
Source: ESPN

Like it or not, Terrell Owens will still be catching passes from Drew Bledsoe this week. Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells stood by his quarterback Monday, instead blaming the offensive line for most of Bledsoe's mistakes in a 38-24 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. "I'm not switching the quarterback," Parcells said. "I don't think that's the answer right this minute. ... Let's try to get some of the things corrected [on the line] and we'll go from there." Bledsoe threw three interceptions Sunday, the last on a pass to the end zone that could've tied the game in the final minute, but wound up going 102 yards the other way. He also set up an early field goal for the Eagles with a fumble. That turnover came on the first of his seven sacks. "He was under pretty good duress," Parcells said. "The majority of the easy sacks they had were mental mistakes." Owens was none too pleased with the way things went in what he expected to be a breakout game against the team and town that dumped him last season. After months of anticipation, Owens had to wait until the third quarter for his first catch. He finished with three receptions for 45 yards. More notable were his antics on the sideline, although his jawing at teammates and coaches supposedly involved shouts of encouragement. After the game, Owens ran into the locker room yelling and asking why the Cowboys bothered signing him in the offseason, according to a stadium employee who witnessed the tirade but didn't want to be identified because he is not authorized to talk about team matters. He later told reporters, "I'm just out there doing my job. I'm not trying to point any fingers at anybody." Neither Owens nor Bledsoe spoke to the media Monday. Both are expected to talk Wednesday.

Bledsoe favors Glenn, not T.O. - 10/10/2006
Source: ESPN

Watching Terrell Owens act like a spoiled baby in times when he didn't get the ball Sunday against the Eagles was so typical of him. To yell "Why am I here?" to a Cowboys coach was inexcusable. Gettin...

Fantasy Impact: Thanks to having been together in New England as well as in Dallas, Bledsoe is more comfortable with Glenn than with TO, and that is reflected in the numbers. TO should see his looks and catches increase as the season goes along, but Glenn will remain a good fantasy play.

Parcells backs Bledsoe - 10/09/2006
Source: Dallas Star-Telegram, Blogging the Boys

Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells emphasized during Monday’s news conference that Drew Bledsoe will remain the Cowboys starting quarterback.

Fantasy Impact: You can quiet the Romo calls for another week, but if Bledsoe continues to struggle this situation will keep worsening. Fortunately, Bledsoe gets the Texans on Sunday, so he should turn in a top performance.

Stomped center may sit out Sunday - 10/05/2006
Source: Philadelphia Inquirer

Amid the talk of the Eagles-Cowboys rivalry this week, there is another hot topic: the health of Dallas center Andre Gurode. Gurode is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Lincoln Financial Field. He required 30 stitches on his forehead after Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth stomped on him Sunday in the Cowboys' 45-14 rout. Gurode did not practice yesterday.

Fantasy Impact: Bledsoe and the Dallas offense have been clicking, but his success is very dependent on the o-line. Dallas has a starter-quality backup in Al Johnson, but it could be trouble for them this week.

Owens, Glenn spoil Young's first NFL start - 10/01/2006
Source: NFL.com

As long as Drew Bledsoe and Terry Glenn are connecting for touchdowns, they don't mind when Terrell Owens gets all the attention. In a game that featured the return of T.O. and the first NFL start of Tennessee rookie Vince Young, Bledsoe and Glenn hooked up on two 13-yard touchdown passes and the Dallas Cowboys beat the Titans 45-14.

T.O. taken to Dallas ER to induce vomiting - 09/27/2006
Source: ESPN

Terrell Owens was taken to the emergency room Tuesday night, and doctors treating the Dallas Cowboys receiver were trying to induce vomiting, according to a television report. Though the reason for the hospitalization was not disclosed in the original report, ESPN's Ed Werder is reporting that, according to a source close to Owens, the receiver suffered an adverse reaction to painkillers taken for treatment of his fractured hand. Owens was brought by a fire rescue crew to Baylor Medical Center, Dallas-Fort Worth television station KTVT reported, citing sources the television station did not identify. A reporter for the station later said she saw Owens being wheeled down the hall. Owens fractured the fourth metacarpal bone in the Cowboys' victory over the Washington Redskins and underwent surgery on Sept. 18. The next day, a plate was screwed in, protecting the bone so it can heal without further damage. Cowboys coach Bill Parcells mentioned in a press conference shortly thereafter that pain medication had made Owens ill, apparently making this the second time he has had an adverse reaction. The incident that sent him to the hospital Tuesday night apparently occurred sometime after Owens took medication after catching passes at the Cowboys' facility on Tuesday. At this point, his availabitily to practice with the team on Wednesday or to play in Sunday's game at Tennessee remains unknown. A hospital spokesman is expected to make an announcement early Wednesday. On Tuesday, the Cowboys also practiced without tight end Jason Witten, whose wife was having a baby. Wide receiver Terry Glenn practiced, albeit with several stitches in his thumb.

Film review: Dallas offense - Redskins game - 09/19/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

The review of the game tape focusing on the offense this week presents a very different picture. The offensive line played a very clean game, and it showed in Drew Bledsoe's performance. Last week Drew was hit 5 times as he was throwing the ball, was sacked twice and had numerous other plays where his throwing motion was altered or he had to throw while moving to avoid the rush. This week, only one sack - that wasn't given up by an offensive lineman - and only a few occasions where the rush was even a factor. If the offensive line continues to play this week, the Cowboys will have a very good season.

Fantasy Impact: When the o-line is on point, Bledsoe and the offense can be difficult to stop. Jones and Barber ran well, and Glenn dominated even with Owens struggling. If the offense can play like this every week, they will be difficult to stop regardless of TO's availability.

Bledsoe, Glenn lead 'Boys past Redskins - 09/17/2006
Source: NFL.com

Drew Bledsoe and the Dallas Cowboys got a big lift from a receiver in their home opener. No, not by T.O. -- it was from their other big-play guy, Terry Glenn. While Terrell Owens botched his home debut with drops and penalties, Glenn set up Dallas' first two touchdowns, then scored a third with a 40-yard catch, sending the Cowboys past the Washington Redskins 27-10. Bledsoe threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions, and would've had even better numbers had his receivers not missed so many passes that hit their hands. Owens was among the most guilty, starting with a flubbed pass in the end zone on the opening drive. By game's end, he was in the locker room getting his hand X-rayed, his stats sealed at three catches for 19 yards. Washington is off to its worst start since opening 0-5 under coach Marty Schottenheimer in 2001. The good news for the Redskins is that they're only one game out of first place in the NFC East.

With T.O. on deck, the Redskins really miss Shawn Springs - 09/13/2006
Source: ESPN, Yahoo!

ASHBURN, Va. -- Carlos Rogers strutted and did a little dance, an odd bit of celebration considering ...

Fantasy Impact: The Skins will struggle to contain the Cowboys receivers without their best corner. Although this is a moot point if Bledsoe repeats his week 1 performance, move the Dallas passing game up for this week.

T.O. on Cowboys QBs: What controversy? (AP) - 09/13/2006
Source: Yahoo!, EsPN

Here's the best example yet of Terrell Owens living up to his vow of being "a better teammate" now that he's on the Dallas Cowboys: He's refusing to share his opinion about a brewing quarterback controversy between Drew Bledsoe and Tony Romo. He even finds it funny he's being asked. "Quarterback controversy?" he said Wednesday, rolling his eyes and laughing.

Fantasy Impact: It's nice to see TO backing his teammates for now. We'll see if this is the same come midseason, especially if Bledsoe has more performances like week 1.

Two positions, two controversies - 09/12/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

The QB controversy is on, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Now, whether it's just a media driven thing or a real thing is still undetermined. In Bill Parcells press conference, He made it clear that Bledsoe would start on Sunday, but he said some things in a way that leaves the door cracked open just a bit.

Fantasy Impact: Now you have to worry about QB and K situations in Dallas. Up the risk across the board in Dallas, and keep a close eye on both situations.

Parcells press conference 9/11/06 - 09/11/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

Parcells was either trying to protect his offensive line, or I just graded them harsher and didn't consider the level of the Jags defensive line in my evaluations. When asked about the line play, he said they played OK, fair, not an inordinate amount of pressure. But he always qualified it with how good the Jags line was. I think he was being kind, but I could be wrong.

Fantasy Impact: He doesn't place all the blame on Drew or the o-line for the 3 INTs, but both were well at fault. Vanderjagt could play this week, so keep a close eye. He said there was a lot of blame to go around, so expect plenty of changes next week.

Film review: Dallas offense - Jaguars game - 09/11/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

After reviewing the game tape, here's a breakdown on the offense focusing on the offensive line.

Fantasy Impact: Both offensive tackles performed badly, which is another reason for Drew's struggles on offense. The o-line overall performed poorly though, and will have to improve before Bledsoe can have a good game.

Storylines from Sunday - 09/11/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

The Dallas Cowboys shot themselves in the foot on Sunday. Over and over. The lesson never quite sunk in that untimely penalties, poor coverage in the secondary, bad throws and missed blocks, would doom a team to failure. They just kept repeating them over and over.

Fantasy Impact: Bledsoe's job isn't in immediate danger, though if he continues playing like he did in week 1 he could be in serious trouble.

Owens denied in debut - 09/11/2006
Source: St. Petersburg Times

Terrell Owens could have screamed. He could have fussed and fumed.

Fantasy Impact: Leftwich had a solid fantasy performance but T.O. was the real story of the game. Look for the Cowboys to get him the ball even more, as when Bledsoe started targeting him, things really came together for Dallas.

Blaming Bledsoe (Yahoo! Sports) - 09/10/2006
Source: Yahoo!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Terrell Owens was a pro in his Cowboys debut. Unfortunately for Dallas, Drew Bledsoe was erratic throwing the football.

Fantasy Impact: While he was facing a good Jaguars D, Bledsoe nonetheless looked very inept after racing to a 10-0 lead. 3 INTs and a completion percentage below 50% are not what you want from your top QB. Move him down a bit.

Jaguars 24, Cowboys 17 (AP) - 09/10/2006
Source: Yahoo!, ESPN, Blogging the Boys

Terrell Owens gave the Dallas Cowboys almost everything they wanted in the season opener: big plays, a touchdown and no surly behavior. The only thing missing was a victory. Byron Leftwich threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score, Fred Taylor had 115 combined yards and the Jacksonville Jaguars spoiled Owens' much-anticipated Dallas debut with a 24-17 win Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Owens did catch a TD, but Bledsoe was very shaky, throwing 3 INTs and completing less than 50%. The entire Jags defense showed up despite two prominent pieces (Stroud, Peterson) being questionable, a big reason for Drew's struggles. They were also hurt by penalties, which you know Parcells won't be happy about. While Jones ran for an early TD, the ground game was pretty quiet since the team fell behind. The defense was only able to sack statuesque Leftwich once, not a good sign. They did hold Taylor to only 3.5 ypc though. Overall, they could've played a lot better, and will have to reverse their bad start at home next week.

Owens, Bledsoe ready to 'make a statement' (AP) - 09/06/2006
Source: Yahoo!, ESPN

Terrell Owens is feeling good about his hamstring -- and about his budding relationship with quarterback Drew Bledsoe. Owens went through practice Wednesday without any limitations, a first since returning from his latest setback. He came away as optimistic as ever about what he, Bledsoe and the Dallas Cowboys can do this season, starting Sunday in Jacksonville.

Fantasy Impact: Both players are ready to make a deadly pairing starting in week 1. Start both of them.

Under pressure - 09/05/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

It's no big secret around the NFL, if you want to stop Drew Bledsoe the best way to do it is to pressure him, especially up the middle. The Jacksonville defense has Bledsoe on the brain.

Fantasy Impact: The Jags know how to screw up Bledsoe: get him under pressure. Stroud's opinion that the o-line is solid certainly is a positive sign for Dallas' week 1 fantasy outlook. Conversely, Leftwich does not have a good o-line in front of him, and his lack of mobility could lead to a lot of sacks for the defense. Move them up for this week.

Cowboys article roundup - 08/30/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

JJT comes right out and says it, Rob Petitti or Jason Fabini are the ones who are on the block and one of them will probably either be traded or cut.

Fantasy Impact: Watch which one is traded or released, but don't make any changes to fantasy projections unless a transaction occurs.

Thinking about the 53-man roster - 08/28/2006

I was thinking about the roster tonight, so I decided to put some names and numbers down on paper and see how it turns out. Here is the roster I would put together. Guys in bold are who I consider locks; guys in italics are the bubble players who make it.

Offensive line - San Francisco game evaluation - 08/27/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

I'm done reviewing the game tape, and this segment is about the offensive line, with some extra comments about other offensive players tacked on at the end. The review of the defensive line and OLB's will come later today.

Fantasy Impact: The o-line did very well on both run and pass blocking. You can reduce the risk on the offense.

Cowboys 17, 49ers 7 (AP) - 08/26/2006
Source: Yahoo!, ESPN, Blogging the Boys

Every snap Terrell Owens misses is another chance for Drew Bledsoe to throw to Terry Glenn. Not that they need the work. Glenn made a spectacular touchdown catch for the second straight game and hauled in a 52-yard pass in double coverage to set up another touchdown, then the defense took care of the rest in a 17-7 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night.

Fantasy Impact: Yes, the offense would be better with TO, but Glenn is trying to prove that they don't need him. Move him up, as well as Bledsoe who is making Romo's preseason a moot point. The first-string defense shut down the weak 49ers, holding them to just 78 yards as they continue to dominate. Move them up slightly.

Things to look for tonight - 08/26/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

It's the 3rd preseason game, which is generally considered a dress rehearsal for the real thing. Unfortunately for Dallas this was a short week with only three days to practice, so it's unclear how much game-planning they were able to do and how much they will treat it as a dress rehearsal. Especially since we have a few outstanding issues yet to be resolved.

Fantasy Impact: The big things to look at are the OTs, whose protection will go a long way towards calculating Bledsoe's fantasy value, and FS Watkins, who is trying to earn the starting spot.

Kornheiser impressed with Cowboys - 08/23/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

Check out this article written by Tony Kornheiser who is one of the new guys in the MNF booth for ESPN. After covering the game for ESPN Monday, here's his take on our 'Boys.

Fantasy Impact: Funny take on the Cowboys, but yet another booster of them. Don't get caught up and start reaching for them.

Maybe a QB contorversy is a good thing - 08/23/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

Vic Carucci of NFL.com offers an interesting take on the whole Bledsoe v Romo hype that has run rampant lately.

Fantasy Impact: That is a good plan by Parcells, and the best way to look at it. Bledsoe won't be demoted anytime soon, so don't worry about it.

Sam Hurd earning Bledsoe's trust - 08/23/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

Sam Hurd is getting some more ink after his performance on Monday night. Check out what he said about his TD celebration.

Fantasy Impact: Hurd is showing a lot of talent, but he is unlikely to be more than a no.4 this year. Don't grab him unless injuries occur.

Offensive line - New Orleans game evaluation - 08/22/2006
Source:

I've finished with breaking down the film and as always, I focused on the guys who don't show up in the box score, the men in the trenches. This is part one that deals with the offensive line and touches on the TE's and RB's. The defense will be examined in part two later today.

Fantasy Impact: The pass protection was very good, which led to the great passing day for Bledsoe and Romo. The run blocking wasn't as good however, and most of the first-team o-line struggled with that. Move the passing game up, but move the rushers down.

Young wideouts step up - 08/22/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

Much has been made this camp about the lack of depth at wide receiver, however, you could never tell that was the case after watching our rookie WR's step up in last night's game.

Fantasy Impact: Nice to see that the WR depth isn't as shaky as once thought. Along with Adams' injury not being that serious, you can lower the risk on the Dallas passing game.

No T.O., no problem as Cowboys rout Saints - 08/21/2006
Source: ESPN, Dallas Star-Telegram, Yahoo!

Terry Glenn reached around his defender's head and made a one-handed touchdown catch on Drew Bledsoe's first lob, then Sam Hurd fought off his defender for another touchdown, helping the Cowboys beat the New Orleans Saints 30-7 Monday night.

Fantasy Impact: Bledsoe looked accurate and poised all throughout the first half and tore up the Saints. Move him and the offense up, even though they didn't have TO. Hilariously, Parcells grumbled that his first-team D wasn't out there enough after they held the Saints without a first down until their fourth offensive series. I don't know, but I think if that happens during the regular season, Parcells and owners of the Dallas defense will be quite happy. Oh, and if you get a chance, check out Glenn's sweet TD catch.

Source: Blogging the Boys, Yahoo!

Drew Bledsoe and Terrell Owens won't make their preseason debut together Monday night against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Impact: Well, looks like we'll have to wait to see how well this connection works. Up the risk on both of them.

RT decision could come soon - 08/18/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

The RT position continues to mystify the Cowboys, who can't seem to get the position settled over the last few years. Nothing has changed in this year's training camp, but the Saints game could go a long way towards clarifying who will be the starter this year. Parcells indicated in today's press conference that he would like to make a decision on that position after the game. Rob Phillips tackles the issue in this article.

Fantasy Impact: Hopefully this is settled after the Cowboys game, else fantasy owners will really start to worry about the offense.

Bledsoe flying under the radar - 08/18/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

I'm sure nobody would argue that the biggest story coming out of Cowboys camp this preseason has been the status of T.O.'s hammy and him not practicing as a result. However, the second biggest story has been the play of Tony Romo. There has even been talk of a QB controversy among the media pundits. As a result of everyone talking about Romo, nobody is discussing Bledsoe and that is just fine with him. Like the true professional he is, he's happy Romo is getting playing time.

Fantasy Impact: There won't be a QB controversy this year, as Parcells is not crazy enough to entrust his championship-caliber team to a QB who has never taken a regular-season snap. If anything, Romo's play means that the offense won't slip much if Bledsoe goes down.

Bledsoe eager to work with T.O. and play in a game - 08/17/2006
Source: ESPN

OXNARD, Calif. -- The buzzer had already sounded, a signal the Dallas Cowboys are using in camp to let ...

Fantasy Impact: They shouldn't be eager to work with each other at this point, they should have already developed a connection. That's what happens when you miss practice. Lower the risk on them a little anyway, since they are at least willing to work.

Update [2006-8-16 13:8:26 by Grizz]: Here's the rumor around camp concerning a Shanle trade to the Patriots, from Matt Mosley:

Parcells says QB Romo `maybe' on right track for future (AP) - 08/15/2006

Tony Romo took turns with the other three Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks Tuesday throwing passes at targets -- four colored flags hanging on poles on either side of the end zone. That friendly competition ended in a tie. Later during team work, Romo directed the second-team offense as usual. But Romo is the only quarterback who took snaps in the Cowboys' preseason opener -- the first time coach Bill...

Fantasy Impact: This QB "controversy" is getting blown way out of hand. Bledsoe is the starter, and Romo plays only in mop-up duty or if Bledsoe goes down. Don't put him on your roster.

Romo buzz continues - 08/15/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys

Profootballtalk.com is saying that the league is really buzzing about our backup qb. They even suggest that Bledsoe will be on short lease with Parcells and Romo just might be the man by season's end.

Fantasy Impact: Hopefully this doesn't ignite a QB controversy, the last thing this team needs with TO already there.

Romo likely to start against Seattle - 08/10/2006
Source: Blogging the Boys, ESPN, Yahoo!

Mickey Spags is reporting that Tony Romo will probably start Saturday against Seattle in the Cowboys preseason opener.

Fantasy Impact: He is likely the no.2 QB this year, but starting Romo will let the Cowboys know whether he can handle himself if Bledsoe goes down.

Bledsoe confident he won't join Garcia, McNabb on T.O.'s hit list (AP) - 08/09/2006
Source: Yahoo!, ESPN, ESPN

Drew Bledsoe either has the best job in the NFL or the worst. He is, after all, Terrell Owens' quarterback. Let's start with why that's a good thing. Throwing to a big, strong, fast, sure-handed target like Owens should make it easier for Bledsoe to move the Dallas Cowboys down the field. In San Francisco, Jeff Garcia became a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback by throwing to Owens.
