Eagles Notes | For Buckhalter, no more surprises - 10/06/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer Correll Buckhalter will not allow himself to be surprised again. This week, he's preparing as if Brian Westbrook won't play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Fantasy Impact: While Westbrook is listed as questionable, he should play in this important divisional matchup. However, if he doesn't go, Buckhalter shouldn't have the same fumbling problem he did against Green Bay with a full week of practice. |

Eagles feast as the Packers fall apart in the second half - 10/03/2006 Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel They come from different strata of the National Football League food chain, the powerful Philadelphia Eagles and the lowly Green Bay Packers.
But for the first 30 minutes on a balmy Monday night, form didn't hold. For the second 30 minutes, it most assuredly did.
Thus did the Eagles dismiss the Packers, 31-9, before a crowd of 69,222 at Lincoln Financial Field.
An 11½-point underdog, the Packers played a solid, smart first half and left with a 9-7 lead. But in the second half they collapsed on both offense and defense, falling to 1-3 under rookie coach Mike McCarthy as the Eagles improved to 3-1.
The Packers' defense gave ground in the first half but hopped on two fumbles by Correll Buckhalter inside the Green Bay 5. Buckhalter started when coach Andy Reid, mindful of his club's showdown against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, elected to rest Brian Westbrook (knee), the electrifying fulcrum of the NFL's top-ranked passing game.
hiladelphia was a different team to open the third quarter, and Reid's decision to go with diminutive but quick Ryan Moats in place of Buckhalter paid major dividends. Moats carried six times for 21 yards in a 15-play, 57-yard drive culminated by David Akers' 40-yard field goal that gave the Eagles the lead for good, 10-9.
Favre left the game in the fourth quarter on a decision by McCarthy with what was described as a slight head injury.
In defeat, the Packers extended their record of futility to 0-9 in Philadelphia since their last victory in 1962. They are 24-24-1 on "Monday Night Football," including four losses in a row. Favre, who is 17-14 on Monday nights, is 4-8 overall against the Eagles, including 0-6 in Philadelphia. |

Plan B: Buckhalter, Moats - 09/15/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer Thursday is a big practice day, lots of reps in pads as the Eagles install their gameplan for that week's opponent. Brian Westbrook almost certainly plays a pretty big role in Sunday's scheme for the New York Giants, in the Eagles' home opener. So Correll Buckhalter and Ryan Moats found themselves quite busy yesterday, when the Eagles' marquee running back left the field in a light drizzle a little more than half an hour into the scheduled 2-hour practice. Fantasy Impact: Westbrook's knee likely won't keep him off the field on Sunday, but he could sit a few more plays and give Buckhalter and Moats the ball. |

Buckhalter makes solid return except for one terrible towel - 09/11/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer The perfect day for Correll Buckhalter, the perfect day for the perfect football story, might have happened if not for a towel. But it was still pretty great as it was. Fantasy Impact: Buckhalter looked great running the ball, making quick cuts and breaking tackles. Look for him to have an impact throughout the season, though it's unlikely he'll be a fantasy starter unless injuries occur. |
| |
1,656 pounds of pummeling - 09/08/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer Coach Andy Reid has vowed that the Eagles will run more this season, which wouldn't take much doing since they passed 64.5 percent of the time last year. Fantasy Impact: We've heard this before, that Reid would commit to the run. If they do, they could make some real gains behind the massive o-line. |
| |
Eagles Notes | Buckhalter isn't any worry to Reid - 09/05/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer Correll Buckhalter's history of injuries is well documented and of no consequence to coach Andy Reid as the Eagles prepare for Sunday's season opener against the Houston Texans. Fantasy Impact: Reid seems to still have faith in Buckhalter's ability to run and provide a solid ground presence. You can move him up a little as a result. |
| |
Rookie Cole getting some experience in backfield - 09/02/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer Crunch Time is a compilation of hits and a few misses from last night's game. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Thomas Tapeh's route to a 1-yard touchdown in the second quarter last night was paved by an impressive Nick Cole block. Fantasy Impact: If nothing else, this could help lead to a couple of additional TDs for the Eagles' running backs. If Cole makes the roster, move them up a little. |
| |
Buckhalter finds solid ground again - 08/26/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer A week ago, Eagles running back Correll Buckhalter played in two series. Eagles Update | Buckhalter, Bunkley to start tomorrow - 08/24/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer Correll Buckhalter, who missed the last two years with a torn right patellar tendon, and Brodrick Bunkley, who has been with the Eagles a little more than two weeks after a prolonged contract holdout, will both be starters in tomorrow's preseason game at Lincoln Financial Field against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fantasy Impact: This is big for both players, as this is the game where starters get the most work. Move both up a little bit. |
| |
Stephen Davis: Comeback kid or red herring? - 08/22/2006 Source: RealFootball365 Apparently, the Philadelphia Eagles' aren't as taken with the inspiring, feel-good story of Correll Buckhalter as is the popular media; on the other hand, who can resist a marquee name like Stephen Davis? Fantasy Impact: If Davis does sign, Buckhalter's value would drop significantly. As such, he carries an increased risk on top of his injury risks. |
| |
A Running Start - 08/18/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer Eagles running back Correll Buckhalter, who missed the last two years with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, had talked all week about how excited he was to finally see some action in the preseason. Fantasy Impact: While he didn't perform that well besides his 48-yard shovel reception, just getting on the field raises Buckhalter's value. |

Ravens 20, Eagles 10 (AP) - 08/18/2006 Source: Yahoo!, ESPN, Philadelphia Inquirer Standing in a corner of the Philadelphia Eagles locker room, Correll Buckhalter flashed a wide smile as he spoke excitedly about playing in the NFL again. "Everything in the past is in the past," he said, referring to knee injuries that forced him to miss three of the past four seasons. "It's a new beginning for me." Playing for the first time this preseason, Buckhalter ran 48 yards with a shovel... Fantasy Impact: The Eagles did not perform that well, especially concerning receivers. Eagles WRs struggled to break free, forcing McNabb to throw away, while Ravens WRs were open all day. A bit higher risk on the WRs and the defense. |
| |
Eagles-Ravens: Meaningful for Buckhalter, Ngata (AP) - 08/16/2006 Source: Yahoo!, ESPN The first string will play half the game, and many of their replacements probably won't survive the last cut. The final score, of course, is irrelevant. That doesn't mean that Thursday night's preseason game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens is entirely meaningless. For Eagles running back Correll Buckhalter, it represents a long-awaited return to the NFL. |
| |
Rich Hofmann | Without T.O., offense has to rely on backs to carry load - 08/16/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer Children, the letters of the day are R and B, and the numbers of the day are 23 and 368. That is how many carries the Eagles' running backs need to have, per game and for the season, if this offense is going to produce as the team hopes. |
| |
After 2 years, Buckhalter ready for game action - 08/14/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer Crunch Time is a compilation of hits and a few misses from Eagles training camp. BETHLEHEM - Correll Buckhalter had barely enough time to gather in the handoff and lean forward. Just like that, the defense was all over him, led by Brian Dawkins, whose hit on the running back produced a loud "thwack." |
| |
Running backs shake off injuries, rust - 08/14/2006 Source: Philadelphia Inquirer They have taken different roads and arrived at the same place. Limbo. As the Eagles continued to prepare for their third preseason game Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens, it was difficult to tell exactly how coach Andy Reid felt at this stage of training camp about running backs Correll Buckhalter and Ryan Moats. |
| |
Can he Buck the trend? - 07/25/2006 Source: Philadelphia Enquirer If there is anyone else in the NFL playing with a piece of wire stabilizing his right kneecap, Correll Buckhalter doesn't know who it is. Fantasy Impact: Good to see him off the PUP list, as that means he has a much better chance of seeing playing time. |
| |
Eagles Update - 07/24/2006 Source: Philadelphia Enquirer Rookie orientation is officially over, and when the Eagles next convene on the practice field, it will be with the entire team for today's workout. The rookies and selected veterans had three days of hot weather, no contact, and plenty of instruction. The special attention the rookies received is now officially over. It's every man for himself. Fantasy Impact: Buckhalter's progress should be monitored, as his improvement could make him a sneaky play as a TD-only back. |
| |
Buckhalter works out with Eagles - 07/24/2006 Source: Philadelphia Enquirer Eagles running back Correll Buckhalter, who had been on the Physically Unable To Perform list (PUP), practiced for the first time today when the team had its first full squad workout. Hopefully he can stay healthy. |
| |

| |

Eagles place Buckhalter, two others on PUP list - 07/20/2006 Source: ESPN Correll Buckhalter, who has missed three of the last four seasons because of knee injuries, will begin the summer on the NFL's PUP list, Eagles coach Andy Reid said.
